Markle got her first movie credit post her royal life in Disneynature documentary ‘Elephants.’ The Disney plus movie mentions her as Meghan the Duchess of Sussex without the HRH title.
Disney recently announced that Meghan would be narrating their new documentary Elephants. Her fans took the internet by the storm touting this as her for step in Meghan’s new life post Megxit.
Watch: Trailer of Disneynature’s Elephant
The Disney documentary that released this Friday on Disney +, chronicles a herd of elephants and their month-long journey to find water. Amid the herd, we see three characters that are in focus; the 50-year-old matriarch, Gaia, her sister Shani, who is 40, and Shani’s adorable 1-year-old son, Jomo.
Transporting its viewers to Africa the 86-minute long movie is an escape from the state of the world around us. The stunning cinematography and following of the herd make viewers connect to nature and its creatures.
It is amusing to watch the Elephants in the wilderness with Meghan’s soothing voiceover. It’s especially fun and engaging to see the youngest among the group Jomo chasing warthogs and climbing on other members of his herd when little too excited.
Parallels with the Royal Family
Though it’s a story of an elephant herd, it’s almost uncanny how much the script reflects the parallels to the Royal family.
The introduction to Gaia, the matriarch instantly makes one think about the Queen Elizabeth of England.
The duchess’s voice instantly brightens while introducing 1-year-old Jomo who is a handful and the youngest – just like her son Archie.
When Meghan says, for elephants, the ‘family is everything’ – it certainly makes one think about how Prince Harry is adamant to protect his family and pursue a peaceful life.
Meghan’s voiceover work goes from happy to exciting to measured, and keeps you engaged in the lives of the elephants in the documentary.
