Which major movies did Winslet star in post-Titanic?
Contrary to expectation, Kate Winslet has only appeared in a handful of movies after her role in Titanic. Some of these movies were very pretty great, like her role as and Hanna Schmitz in the Reader or as Myrtle “Tilly” Dunnage in The Dressmaker and her role in and as Mildred Pierce.
However, none of these could match up to the level of fame that she could associate to her role in The Titanic, which is quite easily one of the main reasons as to why she hasn’t been able to detach from the same and is still stuck being referred to as the ‘Titanic Girl’.

Does she still talk about her Titanic- based fame?
One of the latest pieces of news about Kate Winslet that can be heard around is her tale about how she was recognized on her trip to India. Kate Winslet says she was overpowered when an elderly person in the Himalayas recognized her as Rose from “Titanic” during her excursion to India. The 44-year-old, who featured close by Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack Dawson) in the 1997 blockbuster as Rose DeWitt Bukater, said that second made her more enthusiastic than she’s felt in years.
In a recent interview, she said, “Titanic’ was everywhere. A couple of years after it comes out, I went to India. I was walking in the foothills of the Himalayas, just me with my backpack on my back and a man came towards me with a walking stick – he must have been 85 and was blind in one eye.
“He looked at me and said, ‘You – ‘Titanic’. I said yes and he just put his hand on his heart and said, ‘Thank you’. I burst into tears. It really helped me understand how much that film had given to so many people,”
