Rapper Kanye West took to his Twitter account late on the night of July 4 to announce that’s he’s running for the post of US President. The elections for the same are due in just four months, i.e., November 2020.
Interestingly, the United States celebrates its Independence Day on July 4. The ‘Forbes-declared-Billionaire’ rapper chose this day to match with his timing impeccably.
The 21-time Grammy winner wrote, ‘We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.’
Meanwhile, his tweets are being greeted with mixed reactions and scepticism with people mostly confused if the rapper actually meant it or if he wrote it for the heck of it.
CATCH HAS IT, KANYE CAN STILL APPLY FOR THE POST
This isn’t the first time that the rapper, Kanye West, has shown his inclination to the post of President of the US. In November 2019, Kanye hinted, he will in all possibilities, run for the post for the POTUS 2024 elections. However, it seems as if the rapper’s preponed his instincts and plan to a much earlier date now.
Just so be clear, in any circumstance, Kanye can file for official paperwork to appear on state election ballots this year as there is no deadline to enter the presidential race.
In addition, the deadline to add independent nominees to the ballot has not passed in many states including California.
THE RAPPER HAS ELON MUSK’S VOTE
Kanye West’s Saturday announcement was met with the celebrations of the Fourth of July. Amid confusion and laughter gags by umpteen twitteratis the most eccentric comment come from Kanye’s ‘bro’ and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Musk cheekily replied, ‘You have my full support!’
Meanwhile, Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian also showed her support without saying much and shared his tweet with an American flag emoji.
Regardless, West has not provided any deeper insight or further details into his campaign or party choice and remains unavailable for the comment.
