The Office’s first episode aired almost fifteen years ago and it still captivates a new audience year after year.
The show holds as much relevance and a dedicated fan base as it did all these years ago. A whole generation has grown up or just aged since the show had started. For some actors from the show The Office, their world changed forever. (so did ours)
- Steve Carell is starring Apple’s The Morning Show
- Novak will be seen in a horror movie, Vengeance.
- Angela Kinsey will be seen in Mindy Kaling’s Netflix Series Never Have I Ever
Here’s some insight into what are favourite cast is up to all after all these years.
The Stars That Became
Quite notably, the actors who came out strongest of the hit series were of course Steve Carell who played Michael Scott, Mindy Kaling who played Kelly Kapoor and John Krasinski aka Jim Halpert.
In a period of seven seasons we came to love this socially awkward, highly self-unaware mess of a man and as Jim Halpert lovingly puts it “The Best Boss He Ever Had”. Steve Carell served as the central figure for the majority of the sitcom until his exit in Season 7.
Known for his inexplicable comic timing, improve and amazing acting skills, he since then has starred in a number of well received TV Shows and movies.
These days, Carell is starring Apple’s The Morning Show which was recently renewed for a second season while also has a Netflix comedy-drama series, Space Force, on it’s way.
Not too bad, King Steve.
John who played the lovable smart prankster Jim on the show was waiting tables before he was cast. These days he’s exploring himself as a filmmaker who recently wrote, acted and directed the thriller movie A Quiet Place which went on to garner Golden Globe Nominations.
Along with that, he’s married to the beautiful actress Emily Blunt and we’re all eating our heart out a little bit.
Fisher played the initially pushover Pam who really came into her own as the seasons progressed and had one of the best character arc in the series. She later starred in shows like Splitting Up Together, Drunk History and wrote a book The Actor’s Life: A survival Guide which released in 2017.
She currently produces an Office podcast along with her co-star and friend Angela Kinsey.
Mindy Kaling and B.J Novak
Mindy Kaling and B.J Novak aka the crazy impulsive couple Kelly and Ryan, both writers on the show and actors whose prominence grew over the seasons have had very similar career paths post their Office stint. Both the actors were writers for The Mindy Project which Kaling created and Novak also helped direct a few episodes.
Kaling has had a massive success as an actress and writer doing projects like Ocean’s Eight and a new Netflix Series, Never Have I Ever which will release later this month.
Novak will also be seen directing and starring in a horror movie, Vengeance, which he also wrote.
As head of the accounting department, Angela was cold, cruel and distant. In real life Angela is as warm as a freshly baked cookie. She has starred in Tall Girl, Fresh Off The Boat and will be seen in Mindy Kaling’s Netflix Series Never Have I Ever which comes out later this month.
Who played Oscar Martinez has since his accounting days on The Office starred in Life in Pieces, NCIS: Los Angeles and more.
And our favourite Kevin Malone played by Brian Baumgartner has been in several shows like Melissa and Joey, The Goldbergs and The Good Behaviour.
As Erin the receptionist Kemper played a lively character and her career post the show has only rose. Her most prominent role is starring in the hit series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt for which she has received several nominations.
Well, all the cast seems to be doing really well and keeping super busy with their schedules. So, is it too much to ask for them to reunite for a reboot? Yes? No?
Needless to say, we miss seeing this gang together.
