Why Is Ellen Pompeo Disappointed With Grey’s Anatomy?
The 50-year-old actress Ellen Pompeo is one of the actresses who has been a part of the show since day one. Recently, Ellen Pompeo opened up about the iconic scene where her character, Meredith, begged Derek Shepherd to leave his wife after having an affair with the doctor. Later, she declared her love for ‘McDreamy’ in the emotional scene. Expressing her feelings for the brain surgeon, she ended her speech with “pick me, chose me, love me” and that scene left the viewers in tears.
However, Ellen Pompeo isn’t a fan of one of the show’s most famous scenes. Recently, Ellen told Variety how it wasn’t ’empowering’. Ellen revealed that before Grey’s Anatomy, she got the opportunity to work in films where she just had to be ‘the chick’ in the movie with not a lot to do. But when she read the plot of Grey’s Anatomy she felt, “Wow this is a female lead with a career” But Ellen Pompeo met with great disappointment when she had to beg a man to love her. The actress felt that it was not empowering at all.
