When it comes to abiding by his policies, it seems that US President Donald Trump does not even spare the royalty. Recently, Trump slammed Meghan Markle (and Prince Harry) but the ex-royal couple was ready with an answer.
Donald Trump was very clear when he went on Twitter and typed a tweet in which he denied the US government would pay for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s protection. After they stepped down as royal members, Meghan and Harry first moved to Canada which was followed by reports that they will be moving to the US (Los Angeles).
But the US President made it clear that the Sussexes will not get any US-funded security protection. (It seems he spares no immigrants!) To this, the Duke and the Duchess have the most befitting reply.
Highlights
- Meghan and Harry have, reportedly, moved to the US (Los Angeles) after Canada.
- Donald Trump said the US government will not give any security protection to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
- American taxpayers’ money will not be used for any immigrants even if they are celebrity ex-royals.
- They might not have the royal title anymore but the Sussexes gave a royal reply.

Donald Trump Will Not Protect Immigrants, ex-Royals— Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
The world is in a crisis and even the US is not spared. But still, the US President, Donald Trump managed to steal time to slam Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Trump was clear as day that he was not going to spare the American people’s taxpayers money for the ex-royalty couple’s security.

His words could not have been more crisp and clear—
“I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!”
Had the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still been royalty, they would have been entitled to many privileges, one of which would have included royal security.
A Royal Rebuttal
Meghan Markle has, once, openly admitted that she is not a fan of Donald Trump and his governance. When she was not yet married to Prince Harry, in 2016, she went vocal against Trump at ‘The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore’. She defined the US President with words such as ‘divisive’ and ‘misogynistic’. To this, Trump told The Sun, “I didn’t know (Meghan Markle said) that. What can I say? I didn’t know that she was nasty.” And later, turned back on his words and denied he ever called Meghan Markle nasty.
As an (ex) royal too, Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry are not hiding away from commenting when the need is there. The couple released a statement saying, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resources. Privately funded security arrangements have been made.” Do you think that this was a befitting reply?
Was Donald Trump’s decision to not pay for the security of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry the right move? Moreover, do you think that in the middle of a world crisis, it was the right time to address the security payment issue on Twitter?
