Brie Larson talks about her failures
As we are all in quarantine, Brie Larson focused on other things and made a debut on YouTube. She started her own YouTube channel where she talked about things that are important to her. Lately, the actress uploaded a new video which talks about her unsuccessful ventures. She mentioned, “People tend to only talk about their successes, but I’m going to talk about my failures.”
Larson talks about her journey to stardom. It wasn’t short and straight. She has done different things in her career, which include stand-up comedy and music, before hitting it big in Hollywood.
In the 14-minute video, Brie opened up about her auditions. She talks of the biggest roles she auditioned for and didn’t get. And one of them was Penny in The Big Bang Theory. Though Larson didn’t reveal anything specific about her experience to land a gig on the sitcom, she did say why she didn’t get it.
Kaley Cuoco got the role instead
Brie Larson said nothing about which character she auditioned for in The Big Bang Theory, but if we had to guess, it’s not so hard. Of course, it was Penny.
Penny was ultimately played by Kaley Cuoco for twelve years. Apparently, Larson and Cuoco have some similar physical character traits. But, the reason why Brie Larson was turned down was her age. “I tested for The Big Bang Theory, I remembered that this morning. They were really sweet, they just said I was too young. It’s true,” Brie said.
