MSI packs its gaming laptops with Nvidia RTX graphics at CES 2019
MSI is the latest laptop maker to announce at CES 2019 that it is releasing a gaming laptop with Nvidia’s new mobile RTX graphics cards.
The new MSI Stealth GS75 is a thin and light gaming laptop that comes with an 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 GPU and a 17.3-inch 144HZ IPS-level display, all packaged up in an aluminum alloy body that’s only 0.75 inches thick.
MSI is clearly aiming to show that powerful gaming laptops need not be big and bulky, with the Stealth GS75 offering some of the most impressive gaming techs in a slimline design.
MSI GS75 Stealth Specs
Starting with the big announcement, the MSI GS75 Stealth comes with a sandblasted metallic black finish with elegant gold trim and looks a great deal like its predecessor. The innards see a wealthy upgrade, with up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 8GB GDDR6 GPU and are powered by up to eighth-gen Intel Core i7 processor.
It sports a 17.3-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with a per-key SteelSeries RGB gaming keyboard. It also supports Dynaudio ESS SABRE HiFi audio DAC technology and Nahimic 3 Audio Enhancer for sound and comes with one M.2 SATA-SSD and two M.2 SSD NVMe PCIe Gen 3 SSD Combo for storage. The dimensions measure at 396.1×259.5×18.95mm and the laptop weigh 2.25kg.
The second laptop is the PS63 Modern. While not the most powerful of gaming laptops, it comes with options for the latest Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics on board. It has a sleek 15.6-inch screen and is about 0.63 inches thick, with 3.53 pounds in weight.
For extra security, the PS63 modern comes with a touchpad that has a fingerprint sensor built in. 16-hour battery life, and support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 wrap up the features on the device. Configurations, pricing, and availability were not mentioned at CES.
