How is GlobalLogic enabling business continuity for clients amid the pandemic induced disruptions?
GlobalLogic is enabling business continuity by ensuring much needed resilience, continuity and efficiency. Resilience in this context was workforce capacity and availability. This was achieved by smoothly switching to work from home, as 98% of the workforce were already able to work remotely. We could achieve continuity by focusing on client success and employee experience. Our teams are aligned in understanding the client’s business charter, which made it easy to ensure client success in this context. Employee experience was addressed by various engagement initiatives such as leadership connects, as well as client and investor connects.
Learning and development initiatives to enable continuous learning helped us ensure an enduringly positive employee experience. Lastly, the most important aspect is the efficiency that concerns most in the pandemic era. The self-managed agile model that teams are already used to, working in a distributed mode across geos, driven by objectives and key results; teams owning end-to-end processes and outcomes helped maintain and improve productivity levels. We could fine-tune this further to conduct virtual planning sessions, whiteboarding, objective governance, extreme collaboration embracing newer tools and technologies reinforcing the effectiveness of remote working.
How is GlobalLogic contributing in terms of technology expertise to combat the ongoing virus outbreak and induced economic challenges?
Taking the pandemic as an opportunity for adaptation and transformation to meet the needs of the new norm, GlobalLogic has been working with many clients to develop technologies and solutions to help companies ride out the crisis. This is achieved through advisories, proof of concepts and with an aesthetic appeal leveraging our Design-led engineering expertise and nudging the thought leaders in the client organisation to pursue newer engineering engagements, especially in the areas of building data platforms, and acceleration of digital adoption to be best in class firms in their industry.
We strongly believe that the firms that embrace transformation in such times of instability will be the ones that will succeed in the short term and also have a better chance of long term survival.Jijo Mathew, Vice President – Engineering, GlobalLogic
We strive to be a trusted advisor working collaboratively with our clients.
Please tell us, in brief, the wider social role the company is playing in supporting communities amidst the ongoing pandemic.
With the coronavirus epidemic throwing the lives of many into disarray, every organisation has been doing their bit to help out the worst affected. The Coronavirus crisis has undoubtedly hit the world hard, but has hit the poor and underprivileged harder, severely affecting their lives and livelihoods.
As part of our efforts to help the needy, we conducted donation drives during the lockdown period and also extended our support to ensure the safety of the frontline workers by providing them with essential items such as gloves, masks, sanitizers, water bottles and biscuits. In fact, the Cyberabad police awarded GlobalLogic the ‘COVID-19 Good Samaritan Certificate of Appreciation’ in recognition of its efforts during the pandemic.

GlobalLogic stepped up during the lockdown period to help the Government authorities function and serve its citizens efficiently. We developed an android e-commerce application for the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to enable door delivery service for consumers so that they could order and buy vegetables, fruits and groceries from authorized registered vendors, without stepping out of their homes. We also collaborated with the Nagpur Police department to develop a web application to allow and issue e-passes for all essential services to run during the lockdown.
When it comes to technology contributions, the pandemic has pushed organizations to innovate solutions to help society recover from the current crisis. We are also working in our own ways, for example, we have been engaging with a large US client who is using our AI expertise to predict and monitor elevated temperatures. GlobalLogic, along with its customer, developed some cool features (contactless visitor management, contactless employee entry into the building, a touchless elevator system) to make office buildings contactless, using Bluetooth technology.
Finally, what are GlobalLogic’s long-term plans for South Asia? Any new interesting projects in the pipeline?
