Educational institutions are struggling to find their feet in the world pandemic situation. With offline spaces shut and a comprehensive online education solution far from ready, most have been at the mercy of third-party vendors for live classes. We at Edusquare were well-prepared for the change.
The whole dynamics of the Education Game changed in a jiffy.
The giants of education catering to thousands and even lakhs of students in their premises were not ready to provide an immediate comprehensive solution to their students who were left totally in lurch. Students being stranded at coaching hubs away from their homes with no support made parents rethink the decision to send their wards far off to fulfill competition cracking dreams.
COVID- 19 forced the entire industry in a new direction. Institutions who saw online modes of education nothing more than a supplement were forced to remold their selling pitch itself. But the visionary ones had a headstart, gained a huge first-mover advantage, and reduced their turn around time. In fact, the consensus in the community suggests that the pandemic has triggered the whole shift towards e-learning modules and online education a bit too soon.

Students who were nervous and anxious are now used to the new way of learning. E-learning helps one progress at one’s own pace and time, and therein lies the biggest advantage.
While others may be struggling, but one such IITians and Top B school graduates’ startup Edusquare, a premiere coaching institute in North India didn’t feel so. With all of the team on their toes, we were the first ones to provide students with a comprehensive app-based solution.
Edusquare is a premiere online+offline coaching institute based out of Ludhiana, Punjab with 9 branches across the country. We provide a 360-degree learning/tutoring platform for competitive examinations such as the JEE , NEET, Olympiads, etc. for classes 9th to 12th. The leadership team behind the vision of the firm includes ex-IITian, ex-MDI alumni with significant experience in education, entrepreneurship, technology firms, R&D as well as marketing domains.
When the pandemic hit, we were swift in moving all our work online. Recording stations were set up overnight at faculty homes so that lectures and live sessions could be started immediately. While most educational institutions including schools and coaching giants resolved to give only live classes or old prerecorded videos, we devised a blended model of learning that focused on the continuity of the offline faculties and facility into the online environment. This helps us ensure that students don’t have to battle with connectivity issues and classes need not be arranged at odd hours to combat slow internet speeds. Yschool Learning App, our AI-based Online product has aided in giving students a seamless experience during this transition.

Solving the problem for remotely based students
Even before the coronavirus crisis gave birth to problems like inability to travel to centers, and teacher availability without being online, many students in India had been facing similar issues due to remoteness of the places they belong to. In distant areas, young intelligent students face immense challenges – inaccessibility to quality education and the all-expensive dream of becoming an IITian or a doctor.
Providing solutions for such students, team Edusquare has been working with governments in the states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Free education is imparted by the governments to meritorious students in Una, Ambotta, Thana Kalan, and Mandi district under initiatives like “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” and “Medhavi Yojna”. Students of these remote areas are being trained and coached through our blended model of learning, providing expertise, extensive testing, analysis, doubt solving at their doorstep. They don’t have to travel outside ensuring safety and full utilization of their time.

Innovation in education is a never-ending quest, which led us to the launch of Edusquare Plus. We brought the concept of Social Gamification into this highly competitive preparation area. The premise of Edusquare Plus is tri-fold:
- It provides a basic app with video content, exhaustive test series, and analytics at an affordable price.
- A personalized mentor product as MENTOR+ where an individual has the accountability of all the learning goals and steers with SMART objectives.
- CLASSROOM+ that adds on live tutoring for the students.
We started providing students with a healthy competitive environment where they could grow and learn holistically. The new app recently launched during COVID-19 is available for free access to the promotional content and test series with over 4000 downloads to date. Similarly, we have also reduced the prices for other products in this crisis.
With the help of various government channels across the country, we are helping the neediest students at the grass-root level.
We provide free National Test series for JEE and NEET preparation and help them realize their IIT and medical dreams. This test series combined with a few modules of Crash Course can easily be accessed by downloading the Yschool Learning App on a smartphone.
Our strengths at Edusquare that helped us brace the crisis were ensuring the quality of content delivered, disciplined faculty serious passionate of students’ careers, and the 24X7 availability of mentors/operations for any query related to coaching/online product. One of the USPs of the testing product at Edusquare is the use of artificial intelligence – it gives information around the quality of the efforts of students, even telling them if their correct answer was a fluke attempt.
With constant evolution in this space, Edusquare aims to bring expertise to the masses, so due to lack of opportunity and guidance doesn’t hold them back in these unprecedented times for education. Finally, we pray the world heals fast and normalcy can prevail again. Until then, stay home and stay safe!
